Les trois petits cochons

Les élèves ont pratiqué et ont présenté leur drame : Les trois petits chochons.  Ils ont établit eux-mêmes les critères de succès. (They established the success criteria themselves).

We have one group left to present - they will present their skit on Tuesday.

Bonne fin de semaine!  Vous êtes chanceux - un long weekend pour les élèves!

Crafting a Lead

Students have been studying a variety of leads, and trying their hand at imitating the mentor texts.  Some students volunteered to share their work with you.  Here are some of the unedited leads they have writing so far.  They are fantastic!

I hope that others will feel confident enough to share their writing too!

Guest Author, Eric Walters, Visits Today

We are looking forward to meeting our guest author, Eric Walters today.  Grade 5 students will meet with him, in the gym, at 10 am! Thank you to all students who contributed $2.00 to help cover the cost of this event.  It is not too late to bring in your Tooney!

Don't forget, there is a free event at the Collingwood Public Library tonight, from 6:30-8:30, in Community Rooms B and C, with Eric Walters, Richard Scrimger, Ted Staunton, John Wilson, Shane Peacock and Sig Brouwer (all Canadian bestselling authors) as they talk about the return to the Seven Series in Seven Sequels. Books will be on sale.

Way To Go Guys!

Dear Blended Math Class,

I just read the report from Front Row Ed, it looks like you guys really worked hard in Measurement and Data Management on Friday!

See the report below:

Measurement & Data
  • The average grade level is up to 3.3, up from 3.2 last week, and up from 2.8 at the beginning.
  • 21 students (70%) worked on the MD domain last week, and they used the app for an average of 8.3 games. They grew an average of 0.2 grade levels.
  • Last week, your students answered 1,550 questions. They have answered 4,128 questions in MD so far.
The application recommended six students as student tutors in this domain!  If you are looking for peer help, you should ask Sophia, Hailey, Ben L., Lauren, Lia, and Izzy.

If you require a student-tutor for Number Sense, you should see Changhe, Ben C, Madison,  Hailey, Izzy, and Sophia.

Many of you have been working on improving Math skills at home through Front Row Ed, as well as at school.  I am very pleased that we have found an application that is so useful to you.  Keep up the wonderful effort!

Mme Lemire

P.S.  If my homeroom students, who are not in my Math class, want to join Front Row Ed.  come see me about being added to our group.
